History of Sorrento from 1803:

Over 200 years ago, on the morning of October 9, 1803, an officer under Col. David Collins on board the Calcutta described the land now known as Sorrento as 'exquisite scenery' and 'beautifully picturesque'.

Later in that Century, Mr. George Seth Coppin established Sorrento as a tourist destination, and built a prominent holiday house on the Sorrento foreshore on the corner of Point Nepean Road and what is now known as Coppin Road.

Number 39 Coppin Road is available for you to rent, at the top of a hill, on that same road.
